Installation von Text-icu auf Mac OSX mit cabal

Question

Ich möchte Unicode mit Haskell versuchen, und die Data.Text-Dokumentation sagen, dass ich Text-icu brauche. Das ist, was ich versucht:

Mac OS X 10.6.8

~/haskell_programs$ cabal update

Ich fand einen Beitrag von einem Windows-Benutzer, der das gleiche Problem hatte. Muss ich wirklich gehen und diese C-Bibliotheken installieren? Oder sind sie irgendwo auf meinem System "verlegt"?

Wenn Sie Homebrew verwenden haben, dann ist dies der Befehl, die ich benutze:

DYLD_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/local/opt/icu4c/lib      \ 
     cabal install text-icu          \ 
      --extra-include-dirs=/usr/local/opt/icu4c/include  \ 
      --extra-lib-dirs=/usr/local/opt/icu4c/lib
