Ich hatte das gleiche Problem. Es tauchte auf, als ich versuchte, einen Grails-Befehl auszuführen.

Laufen: Grails 2.0.3, MacOS 10.13.2.

Turns unsere Lösung war, JDK 1.7 zu verwenden.

Ich hatte JDK 1.8 als JAVA_HOME für ein anderes Projekt festgelegt und vergessen, es zurück zu 1.7 zu wechseln.
